Diabetes
is a serious, but controllable lifelong disease that affects about 29 million
Americans. Nearly 21 million individuals
are diagnosed with diabetes, while an additional 8 million are not even aware
they have the disease. With the number of people who are affected by diabetes
continues to increase, Mile Bluff Medical Center works to focus on the importance
of education.
The
diabetes education team at Mile Bluff Medical Center is hosting a FREE Diabetes
Month event on Thursday, November 13, beginning at 1 pm. If you have diabetes or have a loved one with
diabetes, come and learn how to better manage diabetes through:

- · exercise
- · medication
- · continuous blood glucose monitoring
- insulin therapy
Join
Tracie Neitzel – a registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator - and
learn how diet, exercise and medications can help you live well with diabetes. Refreshments
and door prizes will also be available.
