This week...

Adams County Extension Office has received a grant for the Roadmaps to Health program to focus on creating a culture of health for all residents. The Coalition overseeing the grant is looking for information from Adams County employers about activities that are currently in place to promote nutritious eating or healthy lifestyle choices.  If your business has a wellness or health program currently in place for your employees, please contact Marcia Kaye at 608-339-4547 or personnel@co.adams.wi.us and tell her about what you are doing.

Wednesday, June 10 - The Friendship Connection will be holding their Free Lunch Wednesdays from noon to 2 PM at their new location, 117 S Main Street, Adams. Everyone is welcome, free will donations always appreciated. For more information call Deb at 608-339-6810.

Friday, June 12 - United Way of Inner Wisconsin will be giving away FREE children's books during the 6th Annual Great Book Giveaway at11:00am at Burt Morris Park, West Park Street - Adams (prior to the free summer lunch program).  Volunteers will be reading books to the children who are present, and afterward each child can select books to take home and keep. All children and youth (from ages birth to 12 years), parents, grandparents, caregivers, and day care providers are invited and welcome to attend this free event.  Families can come to the event together; and day care providers are invited to come and bring along all the children in their care. Saturday, June 13 - The Necedah National Wildlife Refuge will hold their Conservation Corner Program: Wetland Critters from 1-2 PM Volunteer Naturalists host afternoons of discovery!  Visitors of all ages are encouraged to stop in any time. Please bring bags or boxes and wagons or a wheeled cart to help carry food.  Please do NOT arrive before 3:30 PM so that we can safely dismiss students at the end of the day.

Parenting program available to those with children 12 months, younger - Juneau County



 
As a parent, questions continually come up about how to best raise your children.  To assist you during the first year of your baby’s life, Mile Bluff offers the Hand-in-Hand parenting program.  It is designed to help provide you with answers for dealing with some of the most common situations that arise during your child’s first 12 months of life.

The Hand-in-Hand program is held the second Monday of every month at 4:30 pm.  The next meeting will be Monday, June 8 and will focus on breast feeding tips and questions.
